Your team is working on a big project for the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Together, you will develop a system to justify the full-time employees of the Lab’s diagnostic medical lab.
KEEP IN MIND, I AM THE PROJECT COORDINATOR FOR THE TEAM NOW AND I GOT TO COME UP WITH AN STRUCTURE ON HOW DOES MY TEAM WILL WORK ON THE PROJECT, I GOT TO COME UP WITH AN IDEA AND HOW THE STRUCTURE WILL LOOK LIKE.
I HAVE ATTACHED ONE PROJECT THAT ONE OF MY CLASSMATES DID AND SHE TOLD ME TO GATHER INFORMATION FOR THE DRAFT OF THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. PLEASE GUIDE YOURSELF ON THAT EXAMPLE I ATTACHED, ITS CALLED “Executive Summary for Lab’s diagnostic medical lab” BUT DO NOT COPY AND PASTE INFORMATION FROM THERE!
REMEMBER WE ARE CREATINGA NEW DEPARTMENT WITHIN THE HOSPITAL AND YOU MUST,
Address the following:
Decide how many hours during the week the department must be staffed to fully operate.
Calculate, using one of the full-time employee (FTE) formulas to justify, how many full time employees are necessary. Assume that the full-time employees will work five eight-hour shifts. The minimum amount of employees per shift is: one pathologist, two laboratory technologists, and one finance office clerk.
Provide details as to the services the laboratory offers and the revenue it can generate for the hospital to help the CFO put this information into perspective.
Provide a cost analysis of the day-to-day operation expenses of the department.
Analyze cost using the cost classifications of direct versus indirect and flexible or variable or semivariable.
