Let’s imagine a situation – where a person is stranded in a forest and is out of food supplies, medical supplies, etc. Now our goal is to find the plants, trees and fruits which can be used for eating and medicinal purposes.
Exploratory Research
Exploratory research are the tasks which are done to seek more practical knowledge of a hypothetical and theoretical idea.
To fulfill our goal discussed above the schools/colleges can conduct a mass scale exploratory research operation by dividing them in two multiple groups of five each and tasking those groups to find plants, trees and fruits which are edible and/or have medicinal properties.
Descriptive Research
Descriptive research is simply defining exploratory research in great detail usually in written format.
After collecting and assessing all the data collected by exploratory research done by groups of students we can generalize some basic rules to identify an differentiate between plants, trees and fruits which are edible and/or have medicinal properties apart from those which doesn’t.
Some of those basic few rules maybe such as:-
A unique colour
A special texture
A special fragrance
Size
Height at which the plant bears the fruit, etc
And thus the school can make good use of exploratory research and/or descriptive research.
