Brief

Part 1 –
Answer the following question – What is quantitative research and how can it be used in

Your answer should be no more than 500 words long and contain at least 4 academic
references. Your answer should be accompanied by a correctly completed reference list.
Your answer should be in size 12 font and double spaced.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated – please ensure you reference correctly.

Part 2 –
You must design a paper survey based on one of the following four research questions:

1. Are male social care workers adverse to doing personal care work?
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages to social care work?
3. How do social care workers care for themselves?
4. Does the general public understand social care work?

Your survey must contain exactly 20 individual questions. Your survey should include
questions that aim to gather some basic demographic information about the research
participant and questions that are designed to answer your chosen research question.

Your survey should include at least:

• two questions that gather nominal data,

• two Likert Scales,
• two multiple choice questions.

Your survey should be typed in size 12 font and 1.5 spaced.

Part 3 –
You must develop an analysis plan for the survey you designed for Part 2. Your plan must
identify how you will analyse each of the 20 survey questions. For example, your plan will
indicate whether univariate, bivariate or multivariable analysis could be used to analyse a
particular question. You must list each survey question and then state how you would
propose to analyse the data gathered from that question.
