Once again, the academic essay is made up of three types of paragraphs:
The Introduction (4-6 sentences) includes the Thesis statement
The Support paragraphs (6-8 sentences) thoroughly discuss each of the main points that support the thesis statement.
Conclusion (4-5 sentences) brings the essay to a neat and tidy ending and NEVER introduces any new information.
Assignment:
Step 1: Make any corrections to the MLA and the Introduction paragraph assignment as suggested.
Step 2: Read the attachment on writing Support paragraphs. Support Paragraphs Handout.docx
Step 3: Write 4-5 support paragraphs. Each paragraph should focus on one of your main points. From the sources you selected and included in your Annotated Bibliography, you are required to do the following:
- Use at least four sources (three sources must be from the BCCC database).
- Use each source in the form of a paraphrase and a quote a minimum of two times. In the end, you should have a minimum of eight in-text citations in your paper.
Step 5: Add the support paragraphs to the document with your corrected Introduction paragraph.
Step 6: Check to make certain everything is formatted correctly i.e. in dent paragraphs, double-space, entire document, use a correct MLA heading with student’s last name and page number in the top right corner of each page, underline or bold Thesis statement, Topic sentences, and concluding sentences.
